During that ceremony you'll be introduced into the 'fraternity of aeronauts of Le Ballon Bleu' (The Blue Balloon). Even during the 'normal' version of that ceremony, our passengers usually get pretty wet and messy. And they have a lot of fun. The 'special' version uses more of everything and adds extra slimy stuff - you'll need an extra rinse with the garden hose in order not to clog up the shower afterwards.
This is really great for girls who wanna have fun and all that. :-)

Ballooning nobility

You won't just get wet and messy, though. The ceremony is the occasion to learn about the history of ballooning, to make promises (some funny, some serious) and to earn your personal title of ballooning nobility (countess, duchess, princess...). It will be inscribed on a certificate, along with details on your flight.
We usually make a photoshoot of the whole thing, from take-off to the champagne toast and with lots of before, during and 'after' baptism pictures, which we will send you on a DVD for free - just ask.

As all this after-flight fun usually takes place at our home, you can rinse off the worst muck with the garden hose and then take a nice warm shower so you can return more or less clean. Ensure that you bring a full change of clothes !

We have noticed during more than 30 years of flying that women enjoy all the wet and messy after-flight fun a lot more than men (not always, but in most cases). Two or three women together often have even more fun!
Women are usually lighter than men, which is an advantage on warm summer days when the balloon can lift less weight. Two slim ladies can sometimes still fly when even our best tricks to lighten the balloon itself will not permit carrying a mixed male/female couple or a male duo. For the same reason our 3 Feathers adventure is squarely aimed at 3 slim ladies of at most 60 kgs per person.

Special occasions

This sort of adventurous and gloppy fun is of course ideal for events like a hen party, a sister's day or a mother-daughter outing (we had several of the latter and they were always hilarious!). It could be a great way to bond with your mother/daughter/sister-in-law, flying and getting messy together...

We can imagine that the men who can't participate in the flight itself are willing to sponsor this crazyness for their ladies and be present at their after-flight baptism to take pictures of their loved ones getting wet and messy... ;-).

Having said all that, couples who are rather light of weight and spirit and are into getting muddy and slimed together (mud runners...) can still ask for this funny stuff. If you are a bit too heavy together to fly in the warmest season, do realize that you will get very wet and messy afterwards, no matter the weather.
